Our Impact

Our objective is to increase the literacy rate, job skills, education and healthcare products and personal development of the people of Western Ethiopia and South Sudan and beyond. We accomplish this by empowering young adults, provide capacity building efforts, tools resources, basic life necessities, life services, education, economic and healthcare supplies, equipment, potable clean water, and disease awareness and prevention. In late 2016 we launched programs which focus in Western Ethiopia and the South Sudan border where there are hundreds of thousands of refugees and displaced people who are under-served. This is relatively safe and stable compared with other parts in South Sudan, but its both new arrivals and population is suffering from the higher concentration of refugees and lack of access to basic life services. The South Sudanese people and others in the Gambella region in Western Ethiopia are refugees fleeing ongoing conflict in South Sudan. These people are some of the most under-served populations in the world. at present, there are approximately 500,000 people living in these refugee camps. This does not include tens of thousands roughly over 200,000 of displaced people who are not living in the camps but are devastated at the border. ASDF has three focus areas: Education, Economic Empowerment/Development and Healthcare Programs. Based on recent developments in the area, our plan is to rapidly deploy Educational, Education, Economic Empowerment/Development integrated with Healthcare assistance. Our educational and economic programs offer will improve the literacy, skill sets, job prospects, financial services/lending program, products, tools and general health awareness among a range of youths and young adults including teens, adolescents, young men and women. The current situation in Gambella and surrounding areas in the border and southeastern part of South Sudan requires rapid and efficient response to address scalable education, economic and health private sector and survival challenges for the people of the region. We at ASDF are turning to you for your generous donations, large or small, to meet three goals for short-term projects in the Gambella region.

FIRST
