Health Care Programme

Currently the ASDF is working in Western Ethiopia to serve the refugees and displaced people of the refugees and hosting communities. The focus is Gambella Region and its surrounding areas along the South Sudan border. As there are over 500,000 refugees and tens of thousands of under-served people within this region that lack the most basic human necessities and services which limit their opportunities at a better life. Current Conditions In the Region Basic things we all take for granted such as healthcare needs, medical supplies, equipment, products and clean water, nutritious food, shelter and education as well as mosquito nets, bedding and other life’s critical necessities. These are some of the most under-served people on our planet. They have been chased from their homes in South Sudan by war, genocide, and ethnic cleansing and now 500,000 people are spread across several refugee camps. They, along with local vulnerable populations of Gambella region and southeastern of South Sudan, are devastating However there is hope. Honestly, the current situations in Gambella and surrounding areas require rapid and efficient response to address health, health and survival challenges for the people of the region, We at ASDF are doing everything we can to help these vulnerable people in this part of the world, therefore, we need support from generous people like you (donations, large or small or sponsorships, etc). Currently focusing on healthcare projects and education in this region which has been neglected for many decades and become overpopulated with hundreds of thousands of refugees for South Sudan. Our aim is to provide them access to critical needs like medical supplies, equipment, clinics, medications, general health products, and educational tools.

Here are some of the initiatives we are planning to execute 2018-2019

  • Fall of 2018- we will send a team of professional healthcare and volunteers to the region to take the medical items, supplies, medications and conduct trainings in the region. While there, they will do the following:
  • Provide treatments, medical supplies, equipment and medical services.
  • Create Awareness about health awareness (HIV AIDs, Malaria, Typhoid, Cholera, etc).
  • Provide trainings on general health awareness, how to use water filters and water pumps, and reassess healthcare priorities as we plan to develop clinic in 2019.
  • Develop partnerships and collaborations with other organizations, groups, foundations, and donors
  • Provide treatments, medical supplies, equipment and medical services.

Our Past Missions/Projects

Juanis Lual and other team members made several trips to South Sudan to deliver and implement projects. The accomplishments made by the team at the time were:
  • Provided educational supplies, healthcare in the form of sanitation, and water awareness
  • Purchased and delivered educational textbooks and school supplies to four primary schools
  • Provided educator training through forums and awareness programs, as well as provided teaching supplies to educators
  • Established partnerships and collaborations between local schools, health districts, and US public schools
  • Provided awareness training on personal hygiene, sanitation, and contaminated water identification and purification techniques in South Sudan
