Danny McCarthy

ASDF Staff Volunteer

Danny is our former Program Director and he traveled in South Sudan with the ASDF team in 2011/2012where he worked with formerly known as NDO back then providing aid to returning refugees. And he has just rejoined our team recently in June of 2018 plays a role Volunteer Networking Coordinator. He certainly brings a lot of values and experience in public sector where he has been working as a Lobbyist in Colorado Capitol Hill.

Danny McCarthy earned his B.A. in Political Science from Metropolitan State University at Denver, with a focus on international relations and development. After returning from Malakal, South Sudan, he made the transition to state politics, joining the Colorado Senate Democrats staff in late 2012. In his two-plus years on staff, Danny served the Senate Majority Leadership, providing communications and logistical support for the Democratic Caucus. Danny joined the lobbying firm Mendez Consulting in late 2014. In his work with Mendez, Danny has focused on legislation pertaining to criminal justice reform, civil rights, services for the homeless and people with disabilities, and consumer and employee protections. In his free time, Danny enjoys traveling with his fiancé, playing the drums in a rock band, climbing at the gym, and volunteering with various causes that share his values.
